In Karnataka’s Hubli district, 28-year-old B-Pharma graduate Saurabh Kamra has dedicated his life to saving animals and birds, setting aside a conventional career. Over the past nine years, he has rescued and treated over 30,000 sick or injured creatures, from stray dogs to wild birds. Unable to bear their suffering, Saurabh provides immediate first aid wherever he finds an animal in distress, often bringing them to his home for care. Once they recover, he releases them back into their natural habitats.

To ensure proper treatment, Saurabh coordinates with veterinary doctors and hospitals, arranging surgeries when needed. This mission comes at a daily cost of ₹1,000-1,500, which he funds by running a small mess and a grocery shop. Occasionally, animal lovers chip in to cover part of the expenses. Supported by his mother, Saurabh’s compassion knows no bounds.

**A Lifeline for the Injured: 10-12 Calls a Day**

Saurabh now receives 10-12 calls daily from people reporting injured animals or birds. His journey began nine years ago and has since grown into a relentless pursuit. P. Venugopal, a college professor in Hubli, recalls an incident: “A dog was hit by a car outside my house. Within half an hour of my call, Saurabh arrived and treated it.”

Through his selfless work, Saurabh has become a beacon of hope for Hubli’s voiceless creatures, proving that one person’s dedication can transform countless lives.
